Chunhyangga is the love story of Seong Chunhyang, the daughter of a Gisaeng (courtesan), and Lee Mongyong, the son of the magistrate of Namwon. On the day of the Dano Festival, the two people meet at Gwanghan Pavillion and fall in love with each other. But there is caste barrier between the two, which makes them separate. Chunhyang steadfastly defends her chastity against temptation and severe suffering from the new magistrate Byeon Hakdo. Lee Mongryong returns to Namwon after being appointed Amhaengeosa (a royal secret commissioner), punishes the tyrannical Byeon Hakdo, and rescues Chunhyang and his love.

Many badis were transmitted until the time of Japanese occupation.
