Audiences engage in performance through Chuimsae. Audiences don¡¯t fix the condition for their presence only to ¡®watching¡¯ and instead, they expand it to ¡®participation¡¯ while realizing themselves in the performance through Chuimsae. It is a switchover from a passive attitude to a positive one, and further, it is a switchover from a looker-on to a participant. At this time, audiences are the persons who participate in creation and who empirically create the world, not the persons who reside in the transcendentally made world. They go to the playground to ¡®make¡¯ the world, not to ¡®watch¡¯ the world
However, audiences can¡¯t do the works for presence of characters. It is only the performer and drummer who can directly do the works for presence of characters. Audiences participate in the presence works done by the performer and the drummer, just through Chuimsae. It is the difference between the audience and the performer/the drummer. Audiences can directly engage in the performer and the drummer who directly engage in presence of characters. Accordingly, their presence consistently exists as ¡®audiences¡¯ only. The performer and the drummer can be partly present as characters even though its extent is different. In other words, for audiences, practical and actual presence is allowed, not fabricated and fantastic presence. The presence allowed to the audience is human beings as internal existence in reality.
